Winning as a Team- Living Your 100%
Playing team sports when I was growing up served many valuable lessons for me. Something I cherish and is a cornerstone of how I operate in the world is teamwork. Being a part of team is a dynamic that echoes in all parts of your life whether you play sports or not. From the perspective of the Modern Mystery School lineage tradition, this translates to All of Us or None of Us.
Shared Vision
When you play or work from a team perspective, winning becomes the outcome for everyone. The focus is not only on the star player or the VIP to score or succeed. Everyone on the team shares the same goal. This is essential to the foundation of the team. You can have different talents or strengths. You can express yourself differently than the rest of your team. In fact, being a united team doesn’t mean being the same. It does mean you want the same things. Wanting to fulfill this shared vision in the same way is also a crucial aspect of the foundation of the team. If everyone on the team decides to go about things in their own way, it is no longer a team. It is every person for themselves. I can tell you from direct experience, it doesn’t work out so well. Solidifying the agreement of what you want and how you want to do it builds a strong foundation for any team.
Where do teams exist?
Teams exist everywhere in your life! From your family to your job, the concept of teamwork is integrated into your daily life. Even your daily interactions have opportunities to build teams when you approach it in the right way. Momentary alliances are formed when you are at the bank or buying a new car. Two people come together to achieve a desired outcome. How does coming from team perspective impact your daily life?

A team functions smoothly when everyone is performing at their personal best. Aiming to be better every day is the definition of progression. From the Modern Mystery School point of view, knowing yourself and becoming better at expressing who you are on every level is the ultimate Path. When you are at your best, you want to give your best. Knowing who you are creates an awareness of what you are truly capable of. By knowing yourself more each day, accomplishing your tasks with half the effort or half of your energy becomes unacceptable. Using your energy and will more effectively allows you to take on any responsibility more effectively.
100 % Responsibility
When you take 100% responsibility of a situation or a shared desired outcome, you can create change. When you don’t, nothing changes. This doesn’t mean you take the blame for everything. You still hold others to accountability when it is called for. When others make mistakes, you still see the mission to the end. You keep going until it’s complete. You may have dynamics to work out within the relationships of the team, but personal conflict doesn’t distract you from the goal. It’s up to you and you commit to seeing the mission through. By everyone having this type of attitude, the depth of what you can accomplish is immeasurable.
